Elizabeth Walton, MD

I began considering medical school when I was in college at Georgia Tech. Medicine seemed like the perfect way to incorporate my interest in people with my love of science.

Elizabeth Walton, MD

Dr. Walton is an Atlanta native and a proud graduate of Marist School. She graduated cum laude from Georgia Institute of Technology and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She completed her residency in internal medicine at The George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. where she was voted “most outstanding resident” by the faculty and her peers.

Dr. Walton is one of the founding partners of Piedmont Internal Medicine (PIM). Prior to joining PIM, Dr. Walton worked for Piedmont Physicians Group for ten years. Before PPG, she was an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and medical director of the Asa G. Yancey Health Center in Atlanta. She is board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Walton’s special interests include preventive medicine and women’s health, and she believes in educating her patients so they can live healthier, more productive lives. In her free time, she enjoys watching sports, playing pickleball and spending time with her wife and twin boys.
